David Barr Kirtley says
Yeah, it’s a real shame. I’ve been reading and enjoying the magazine since I was in high school. Shawna really encouraged new writers, and nurtured talents such as Theodora Goss, Tim Pratt, and Carrie Vaughn, among many others. And Doug Cohen really gave 100% to the magazine, and I know he would have done great things with it if he’d been given a chance. And of course the art was just gorgeous. I can’t imagine what my twenties would have been like without Realms of Fantasy (it was practically the only place I published for about five years there). I’m very sad to see it pass away, and I can only hope that something like it emerges again someday.
