Episode 32 of Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy is now up at io9. In this show we interview star astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson about life in the universe, death in outer space, and why Titanic pissed him off. Then stick around after the interview as John and I recommend some of our favorite astronomy-based science fiction. We also discuss James Frey’s role in the movie I Am Number Four and speculate about whether aliens could truly be incomprehensible.

great episode! not sure if you saw my comment on io9…
i think Dave’s idea for Librivox-like (librivox.org) volunteer transcription is a good one. i wonder how much it would cost for an Amazon Mechanical Turk (aws.amazon.com/mturk) to do it?
Note: a 2006 Salon.com article quotes $0.19/min to employ mturks for podcast transcription (or $13.50 to transcribe this episode). but you still have to have the time to setup the mturk… Casting Words (castingwords.com) currently charges $0.75/min to run the turks ($55.05 for this episode).
Thanks! I’ll look into that.
